This week the year sevens were planning for next year’s Wellington Trip for the year eights. We had to think of activities and all of the prices for them. Also we had to organize the transport and what we will use to get around the place, we will probably mostly just walk around the place. We have come up with a few ideas for things to do in Wellington, could you think of anything else?

On Wednesday this week the whole school was asked to dress up in a character from a book that they like. Most of the people in the school dressed up. I was dressed up as Darth Vader, I had a suit, a mask, and Darth Vaders light saber. It was a really fun day, my favourite part of it was doing the parade and walking around the school showing everyone who we were. Some other characters that were there were people like spider man or The Mandalorian.

For the past week I have been working with a group of my friends from school on a slideshow that is all about French culture. I was working with Mitchell, Makua, Yanni, William. We included things like the history and some fun facts. Here is our work down below:

For reading for the past few weeks we have been learning about art, we were working on an agency activity one of the activity was a red thinking hat. We had to find different pieces of art, my favorite kind of a rt is visual art especially buildings.

People upstairs in the intermediates have been split into groups to make a poster about the NBC market day on November the twelfth. I was in a group with William Mitchell and me. Anyone could come to the market, everyone is welcome!

For the first day of term four we chose one of the three pictures that Mr Gray got of some sheep hanging out with the chickens. We had to make captions of what the animals might be thinking or saying. For the captions we had to engage a specific audience in the conversation, I chose my parents. I really enjoyed this task because we had to use our imagination for it. This is what I came up with:

What things would you make the animals say?

Today the class went on a zoom call with a couple year 5 and six students from Belfast school to teach us how to animate things on canva step by step. We followed along with them on canva as they told us the steps to animate things. To animate something you had to drag it with your mouse and drag it where you wanted them to go on the screen. I animated six different things in my video, Here it is:

Yesterday someone called Jonie Timu came into our school and talked to the school about how reading inspired him to do what he is doing now. Jonie Timu started a group called brown pride with his friends, they go around helping people in need and giving food to the poor. He also played some games with us like pictionary. At the end of the assembly we picked up our Duffy books from Duffy and here are the books that I ordered earlier this term.

Do you know anything about brown pride?

For the past couple weeks we have been working in groups of 3 – 4 people and make an advertisement about something to persuade the audience. My group chose to do an advertisement about Pepsi, There were people to act as, Scarlet and Jeffery. The people in my group were William Hugh and me. What most companies do is to get an ad stuck in everyone’s head so that they can buy the item, like a catchy song or something.

What’s one an ad that is stuck in your head?

For the past couple weeks we were split into groups of 2, 3 or 4, I was in a group of 2 with my friend Yanni. We had to research about an animal habitat and how they survive there, then we had to make it into a poster, we chose to do a polar bear’s habitat. A Polar bear’s habitat is usually quite icy and cold. Here is our poster we created.
